Leap is a typical rural Irish Village located at the inner reaches of Glandore Harbour Tidal Estuary, on the West Cork Coastline. The name is derived from the Gaelic Irish Translatio of "Leim Uí Dhonnábhain" which is " O'Donovan's Leap" . This is so called because a person of that name is reputed to have jumped across the Estuary Ravine at the bottom of the Village. |
