Whitethorn Cottage is a lovingly restored artisan cottage approximately fifteen miles East of Cork City Ireland. This one bedroom self catering property is situated in a rural location away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This self catering vacation rental cottage is an ideal location for a weeks break away from it all, at the same time is a short drive to Midleton, Cork City or Fermoy town. There are 10 golf courses within a 15 mile radius, with some excellent places to dine in Glanmire and Midleton. This is a quiet rural retreat. It is a 15 minute drive to the Jack Lynch Tunnel and 4 miles from the Cork Dublin Road N8 at Watergrasshill, which makes it convenient for touring the North and East Cork area as well as West Waterford about 5 miles from the N25 . |

Accommodation comprises of a bedroom with a double bed with solid oak flooring , shower room with pumped shower and heated towel rail and kitchen /living area combined with vaulted ceilings wood burning stove and a modern kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer with traditional style black slate floors. There is a washing machine and dryer also along with oil central heating. Solar panels have also been installed to harness the suns energy for hot water on sunny days. A small patio area to the West to enjoy the evening sun. Bed linen and towels are supplied. |

The property is located in a rich agricultural hinterland, where grain and dairy farming are prevalent, fishing in the Blackwater Valley or Funcheon River is a short drive where salmon & tout fishing ( with fly only) are available ( in season). Permits are required for both. Traditional music is at Wallis bar in Midleton every Tuesday night or a Smarts bar at Ballincurrig ( 1st Friday of every month .) A car is essential here and one small house animal is allowed. |
