It is located on the outskirts of Rostrevor Village, County Down at the foot of the Mourne Mountians on the Carlingford Lough. The house has beautiful views of the sea, Cooley Mountains (located across the lough) and the Mournes. There is lots to do in the surrounding area - swimming, sailing, hiking, mountain walks, tennis, golf and hourse riding are some of the outdoor pursuits readily available.

Rostrevor is a lovely Irish village with local shops, pubs and restaurants all within a 5 minute walk from the house. The house is also within easy walking distance (just over 5 minutes) to the beautiful Kilbroney Park.

Rostrevor is just 6 miles from Newry City (which has two large shopping centres, a cinema, a variety of restaurants and night-life). The train station (which provides easy access to Dublin and Belfast) is only 9 miles away. Driving, Dublin is 1 1/2 hours and Belfast is 1 hour.

The house has 3 double bedrooms and two rooms with 2 single beds. A cot and a highchair are available upon request. All bed-linens and towels are also provided on request (and for an additional £30.00). There is a large sitting room and a large dining room which can comfortably seat 10-12. There are two bathrooms in the house and 1 WC.

The beach is easily accessible from the house and there is a fair-sized garden with patio area for outdoor activities.

Children are welcome, but sorry, no pets allowed.

The area is just over an hour from Dublin or an hour from Belfast airports which make it an ideal touring base for the North East Coast of Ireland . You can also take advantage of the good rates on sterling by crossing the border to shop in the South of Ireland

The road into Rostrevor winds past a tall granite obelisk erected in memory of Major General Robert Ross. He was commander of a small British force which captured Washington in 1814 after unexpectedly defeating the Americans at Bladensburg. Palm trees and mimosa flourish in the mild climate of Rostrevor. This is why the granite mass of the Mourne Mountains in the south is so striking. Slieve Donard rises from the sea to 2,796 feet.

In the east of the county, the Ards Peninsula forms a barrier between the sea and the almost land-locked Strangford Lough.

Bangor, Donaghadee, Newcastle and Warrenpoint are examples of some of the fine resorts that line the beautiful Down coast. They are linked by good roads that wind their way around the shore.

The county boasts many important historic sites and ancient monuments, together with attractions for the sportsman, the climber, the walker and the sightseeing tourist.
